 Sirius
is the name of the brightest star in our galaxy. It is three times the size of
our sun and ten times as bright, shining with a blue white intensity. It is also
known as the Dog Star.
The spiritual traditions of the Native American, ancient Egyptian, and Tibetan
cultures placed great emphasis on the powerful spiritual energies emanating from
Sirius. To the Native Americans Sirius was the blue spiritual sun behind the
physical sun. For the ancient Egyptians Sirius was the energy of transformation
and the key to building the light body of immortality. In the voluminous
metaphysical writings of Alice Bailey, the Tibetan spiritual master D.K. states
several times that Sirius represents the most potent spiritual energy in our
universe.
At midnight on New Years Eve Sirius rises to its position of greatest influence
in relation to Earth. At that moment people the world over celebrate
